13 people attended the World Day of Prayer event at East Mainland Kirk on 1 st March 2024 . We had a table representing Palestine - decked with a flag, fruit of the region , leaves , plants and poppies . We were unable to source olive branches but found other plants to represent them . The programme for 2024 was prepared by a group of Palestinian Christian women and their theme was “ I begYou ….. Bear With One Another In Love “ based on Ephesians 4:1-7 .
The reading of the passages and script from the World Day of Prayer booklet were shared between those present adding to the sense of fellowship on the day .
As a group we were united in our desire to pray for the people of Palestine as their world around them is destroyed by war .
God of Peace , we pray for an end to the war between Israel and Palestine and for a just solution to the on going oppression .
We also pray for the city of Jerusalem , sacred to three religions of Christianity , Judaism and Islam . We pray for equality , freedom of religion , freedom of movement and freedom of expression . Tracy us as Christians to follow the way of Jesus , sharing love with all inhabitants of the land .

The next meeting of the East Mainland Guild is on Wednesday 6 th March at 2 pm in the session room . This meeting will include the AGM .
